Scotty Cameron Custom Shop Creator lets you bling out your Newport like a pro

The new Scotty Cameron Custom Shop Creator makes real—well virtually real anyway—a process that in most ways was left to your imagination. Everyone knows that a Scotty Cameron custom putter has held a special place in the cathedral of most-prized golf clubs, both for collectors and for those who actually play golf with them. Jordan Spieth has been using the same custom model (Scotty Cameron by Titleist SC-009) since he was 15, modeled after a putter played by Geoff Ogilvy and Adam Scott at the time.

Now, through the Custom Shop Creator, you can personalize your own favorite Cameron model, arriving at a one-of-a-kind collection of paint fills, logos, initials, even changing the specs of length, loft and lie. All Cameron putter models since 2014, plus many of his most popular prior models, are available in the new customizer that shows you the changes in virtual photo-realistic re-creation. You can click through each color or stamping change and get a preview of each tweak before settling on a final decision. Owners of older putter models also will be linked to Scotty Cameron’s Classic Form, where an additional 100 putter models may be customized, including the 009 that Spieth is making a collector’s favorite. (Current Ebay auctions show that versions of that putter are going for as much as $4,000, and certainly other Cameron putters have been valued at even more extreme numbers.)

“I created the Custom Shop to give passionate players a way to preserve, personalize and protect their putters for life,” Cameron said. “The Custom Shop Creator really takes the creative process to another level. It just gives you that feel of a Tour-like experience and creating a one-of-a-kind design.”

Cameron stands atop the world of high-end milled putters, a marketplace he seemingly invented through his shared vision with Acushnet chairman and CEO Wally Uihlein, as Golf Digest's Max Adler detailed in this piece back in 2009. Together, the two established the Scotty Cameron by Titleist line that sells more milled putters than any company in golf by a wide margin.

While the Cameron Custom Shop has offered personalization since 2004, this Custom Shop Creator unveils several new elements, including a feature that lets you save your changes, a mobile-friendly platform, and several Custom Shop-only headcovers and other accessories.

Full putter restoration, including choice of silver or black finish, is $290. The site also offers an authentication service for $75. Grips range from $15-$57, and headcovers range from $35-$124. Loft and lie adjustments are free. The Custom Shop Creator can be accessed here.
