Scottie Scheffler admits he had no clue why tour winner was suspended, rubs salt in the wound

Scottie Scheffler may not be the most extroverted PGA Tour personality, but get him on the golf course and you’ll get everything you could want from a star athlete. It makes total sense that that’s where he’d be most comfortable.

So, following in the footsteps of Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Phil Mickelson and other content luminaries, Scheffler joined YouTube star Grant Horvat in a stroke-play challenge—this time at Scheffler’s beloved Royal Oaks—and let it rip, going in on course design, cart paths and (most notably) Wesley Bryan.

For the uninformed, Wesley Bryan is a PGA Tour winner and YouTube golf pioneer who was suspended indefinitely for participating in a LIV Golf influencer event this spring. He was warned by the PGA Tour ahead of “The Duels,” but still played in the event (and paid the price). He is now appealing on the grounds that it wasn't a regular LIV tournament.

Although the news was another significant moment on the dueling-tours timeline, Scheffler seemed confused when the subject came up during his round with Horvat, asking the former Good Good personality, “what’d he do?” Horvat explained, but the two quickly got distracted by their round.

Later, the pair returned to the Bryan saga as Horvat explained his invite to the Barracuda Championship in July.

“I think I’m gonna have Wesley caddie for me too,” Horvat jokes, to which Scheffler responds, “Alright then, I probably wouldn’t go. I only know Wesley, but I’d probably take George instead.

“And I say that without really knowing George. Just knowing Wesley. I don’t have a strong opinion either way, but it’s just a good opportunity to hate on Wesley a little bit. Now that he’s got some extra time on his hands, he’ll probably watch this video.”

Those are some good daggers from the World No. 1. He came to play for YouTube, whether it be for the golf or the burns. Also, Scheffler shot a ho-hum five-under 66 to win. Would you expect anything different?
