Adrien Dumont de Chassart of Belgium became the second player in as many weeks to win in their professional debut with his victory in the Korn Ferry Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am on the Thornblade Club in Greer, S.C.

A week after Rose Zhang won in her first pro start on the LPGA Tour at the Mizuho Americas Open, Dumont de Chassart played the last five holes in four under par, then defeated Josh Teater on the first extra hole.

Dumont de Chassart, 23, closed with a six-under 65 and a 72-hole total of 21-under 264. He won with a par on the first extra hole, the par-4 18th, which Teater bogeyed.

The Big Ten Player of the Year at Illinois, Dumont de Chassart finished third in the PGA Tour University ranking at the end of the 2023 college season, giving a full exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour. The victory allowed him to debut at 22nd in KFT points. The top 30 at the conclusion of the KFT Championship in October will earn a promotion to the PGA Tour.

The victory also vaulted Dumont de Chassart from 3,681st in the Official World Golf Ranking to 479th, the largest single week jump in the history of the ranking.
