Rory McIlroy gives perfect answer to the obligatory "What have you learned this year?" question

Rory McIlroy was enjoying a nice season and was set to defend his two major titles when he suffered a torn ligament in his ankle playing soccer with friends. That became the defining moment of an overall disappointing campaign for McIlroy, and thus led to this perfect answer when asked "what he's learned this year" during his pre-Tour Championship press conference.

"Don't play football in the middle of the season."

Sounds like a plan. And sorry for calling it "soccer," Rors.

Of course, McIlroy offered a lot of other thoughts on 2015. He admitted to putting too much pressure on himself at the majors, and summed up his year as so:

"Interesting, disappointing, not unfulfilling, that would be going too far."

And as for Jason Day, when asked about how tough it will be for the new No. 1 to stay on top of the golf world, McIlroy smiled and gave another great response: "Hopefully, very tough."

And McIlroy's fellow players are probably hoping he hasn't really learned his football lesson.
