Rory McIlroy gives his fans a holiday surprise on Facebook

Despite self-classifying 2015 as a "lost season," Rory McIlroy has enjoyed a pretty good year. He won four times across the world, was named European Tour Player of the Year, and perhaps most importantly, got engaged.

Moreover, Rory, already one of the more proactive personalities in the golf world regarding fan interaction, upped the ante this campaign. He famously gave away a driver to a fan and maintained a consistent and forthright presence on his social media accounts.

He built upon the latter sentiment Thursday, taking to Facebook to do a live, impromptu video chat with fans. Some of the highlights:

Was it just me, or was there an ominous tone to McIlroy's "Augusta" answer? Almost like he was calling his shot. A green jacket would give McIlroy the career grand slam, and after the way he played at the end of the year, I wouldn't bet against him.

Of course, Jordan Spieth did just set a tournament record at age 21 last year, and I'm sure that Jason Day guy has something to say about it. Man, April can't get here soon enough.
