Rory McIlroy possesses a supernatural driving ability, an aggressively-accurate approach game, and an unshakable confidence, to go along with a rapid social media following and fledging fiscal empire. Judging by his response to golf commentator Brandel Chamblee, McIlroy also owns one hell of a sense of humor.

On Tuesday, Chamblee expressed concern over McIlroy's gym exertion during a conference call for the Florida swing, insinuating it could lead to a "destructive path" that took down Tiger Woods.

“I say it with a lot of trepidation, because it’s a different era for sure,” Chamblee said, “and I don’t know the full extent of what he’s doing, but when I see the things he’s doing in the gym, I think of what happened to Tiger Woods.

"And I think more than anything of what Tiger Woods did early in his career with his game was just an example of how good a human being can be, what he did towards the middle and end of his career is an example to be wary of. That’s just my opinion. And it does give me a little concern when I see the extensive weightlifting that Rory is doing in the gym.”

Chamblee wasn't derogatory towards McIlroy and his point is not unfounded, although the Tiger comparison is a bit of a reach. McIlroy, however, answered Chamblee's assertion in suitable fashion:

That McIlroy is working out to the soundtrack of a Sandals commercial adds to the satire.

At least, we think that's part of the joke. Either way, well done, Rory.
