Rickie Fowler's high-top shoes are now available from Puma to the public

February 25, 2016

Though some might argue whether or not Rickie Fowler is a true rival for Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day, there’s no denying Fowler moves the fashion needle. Nowhere was that more apparent than when Fowler garnered significant attention and social-media buzz by wearing Puma high-top shoes at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, when, resulting in conversation levels rarely achieved for golf footwear.

Now, those clamoring for Fowler’s kicks to come to market are in luck. Puma has announced it is making a limited number of its TitanTour Ignite Hi-Tops available for pre-order in black-and-white only.

Inspired in part by Keegan Bradley and Michelle Wie wearing high-top golf shoes last year, Fowler asked Puma for a similar style to wear in 2016. “I wanted my own take on [this look],” Fowler told Golf Digest in January. “It’s something fun, something to bring my personality into it.”

Fowler worked with Puma’s head of golf shoes, Grant Knudson, and the apparel team to come up with his 2016 look. The shoes include laces and Velcro across the top.

“I wear high-tops all the time for golf,” Fowler said. “The shoe guys at Puma on the golf side and the lifestyle side got together and did a great job of collaborating.”

Of course, don’t expect to generate as much buzz as Rickie did by wearing these shoes. But do expect people to take notice.

Price for the shoes: $200. To order, click here.
