Pssst: Don’t give away the ending of Titanic to Cam Newton

Atlanta Falcons v Carolina Panthers

Spoiler etiquette is a divisive topic. The omnipresence of social media has made avoiding shocking twists and endings from your favorite TV shows and movies tougher than ever. Sure, most decent people are cautious not to ruin the surprise for others; then again, at some point, a story becomes an accepted part of pop culture's fabric. If you don't know Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father, that's on you.

Of course, this is regarding fiction. Actual history is a different rodeo. Which brings us to Cam Newton's Sunday post-game comments.

Following his team's victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Newton was asked about the Panthers' recent trade of receiver Kelvin Benjamin. The former MVP's take was, ahem, interesting:

So...who wants to tell Cam?

Or, maybe Newton -- a man infamous for his mood swings -- is pessimistic about his team's forecast, despite their 6-3 record. We suppose, in this scenario, the Philadelphia Eagles are the iceberg.
