Prize money payout for each player at the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship
Keegan Bradley entered the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship Sunday with a two-shot advantage over Max Homa, but Homa birdied the first hole at TPC Potomac and Bradley made double-bogey on the par-4 second hole and the see-saw battle continued for the next four hours.
Ultimately, Homa shot a final-round 68 and walked away with his fourth-career PGA Tour victory, his third in the last 15 months. He won by two shots as Bradley tied for second place with Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young. Bradley only made eight pars on the day and shot two-over 72.
“I just feel like life’s good,” Homa said. “I’m starting to believe in myself more. That’s all I can ask for.”
The disappointing finish for Bradley came with one potential perk. He entered the event ranked No. 64 in the Official World Golf Ranking and his finish is expected to move him closer to 50th in the world. The top-60 as of May 23 will qualify for the U.S. Open at The Country Club at Brookline, Mass. Bradley grew up 150 miles north in Woodstock, Vt., and moved to Massachusetts prior to his season year in high school.
Homa won the Fortinet Championship last September and joins Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns, Cameron Smith and Hideki Matsuyama as multiple winners this season on the PGA Tour. With the victory, he earned $1.62 million from the $9 million purse.
