Billed as "A five-day celebration of enlightenment, empowerment and excellence," the inaugural Black Men Xcel Summit (held August 30 through September 3 at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) treated participants to inspiring leadership workshops, networking functions, mentoring sessions, spa treatments and golf (both social and competitive) on some of Florida's top-ranked courses. The three-day golf tournament, which was played on PGA National's Champion, Squire and Fazio courses, was won by Kenny Larry and Maxine Bland.

The Black Men Xcel Summit Golf Tournament is one of 34 amateur golf events across America that are part of the Genesis Invitational series in 2017, which means players were treated to Genesis-sponsored experiences throughout the day, including a chance to win a brand-new Genesis G80 luxury sedan with a hole-in-one on the designated hole-in-one holes throughout the three-day tournament. The event's winners, Larry and Bland, also earned an all-expenses-paid trip to the Genesis Invitational finale at Florida's Streamsong Resort in October.
