PGA Championship 2024: Brian Harman slams club in disgust, hits himself in the face

May 17, 2024

Brian Harman may be the reigning CHAMPION GOLFER OF THE YEAR, but we found out on Friday that he's nowhere near the best in the game when it comes to slamming golf clubs.

Following a disappointing tee shot on the par-3 third at Valhalla during the second round of the PGA, Harman expressed his frustration by hurling his golf club at the ground. There was just one problem: He didn't throw it far enough away from his body.

As a result, Harman's iron hit the turf and bounced back up directly at him, the butt of the club even hitting him in the face. Tough scene. Have a look for yourself:

After all that work by Scottie Scheffler with the basketball highlights and the whole getting arrested thing to earn golfers a little bit of street cred, Harman goes out and does this?

On the, um, flip side, if you want to see a man who knows what he's doing in this area, Harman should look no further than Jon Rahm. The two-time major champ did this on Thursday—amid a stretch of four birdies in five holes!

Actually, despite that bogey on No. 3, Harman is having a nice round himself. Up to that point in his round, he had four birdies and no bogeys through 11 holes. Talk about a perfectionist.
