Pavin: Amy Mickelson will be going to Wales
U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin said on Wednesday that Amy Mickelson will be going to Wales for the Ryder Cup, though she will not do so via the team charter from Atlanta early next week. Instead, she will arrive later in the week, the Associated Press is reporting.
Amy has made only a single appearance on site at a golf tournament since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2009, that coming on Sunday at Augusta National, when her husband Phil won the Masters there in April. Amy was in San Francisco for the Presidents Cup last year, though she never left the team hotel.
