Patrick Reed's wife suffers seizure, rushed to hospital

December 11, 2014

Patrick Reed's wife, Justine, was rushed to a hospital Tuesday after suffering a grand mal seizure, according to a statement released by Reed through IMG.

Justine was in the bathtub when she suffered the seizure, and she is recovering in the hospital. Earlier this May, Justine gave birth to the couple's first baby. Patrick withdrew from the Franklin Templeton Shootout's Pro-Am on Wednesday, but plans to play in the tournament, which begins Thursday.

Reed's statement:

"I withdrew from today's pro-am to be with my wife, Justine, who suffered a grand mal seizure yesterday afternoon while in the bathtub. We are really fortunate that she is okay and lucky that I was in the room with her to save her from drowning. I am so grateful to the paramedic team, IMG and the doctors at Naples Community Hospital for their support and care during an extremely difficult time."
