Pacific Gales: A new course to keep an eye on

November 22, 2013

The Southwest Coast of Oregon has quickly become one of the world's hottest golf destinations (thanks, in large part, to Bandon Dunes), and it's about to get hotter. The construction of Pacific Gales, a new 18-hole golf course on a portion of privately-owned land in Curry Country, located about 30 miles south of Bandon Dunes, is slated to begin in the summer of 2014.

Golf Digest Architecture Editor Ron Whitten is impressed.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this venture is Pacific Gales' social media presence. The soon-to-be golf course has Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts that offer a glimpse into its creation. Just take a look at two of its Instagram photos:

I can't think of any other significant new project that has been so transparent. It'll be fun to see this course develop, in real time, from start to finish.
