Odyssey's latest putter release is an update to its Works Versa line

February 21, 2016

Odyssey’s Works Versa putter line has been its most successful introduction, and the company is expanding the line to include new models that emphasize off-center hit stability. Like last year’s 2-Ball Fang, Odyssey’s Marxman Fang, inspired by the original White Hot XG Marxman, reduced weight of the alignment-line feature on top. This lowered the putter’s center of gravity and improves moment of inertia and off-center hit stability by 14 percent, according to the company. “It brings a different visual to the table, so I think, just like the original Marxman putters, it’s going to be a great complement to the 2-Ball line,” says Odyssey principal designer Austie Rollinson. “I’m not sure consciously players know which kind they prefer, but they do when they set it down. It’s almost a subconscious realization they have.”

The line extension also includes a new Sabertooth mallet and an oversize version of the #7, #7H. All models include the multi-level Fusion RX insert, with a White Hot polymer foundation and a thin steel mesh to improve friction for a better initial roll. The three new models are available at retail for $200 ($220 for counterbalanced Tank versions; $180 for #7H).
