The U.S. Open will return to Oakmont Country Club outside Pittsburgh in 2016, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting. The USGA won't officially make the announcement until the eve of the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, the paper says.
Oakmont has hosted more Opens than any other course. The '16 Open will be its ninth. It last played host to an Open in 2007, when Angel Cabrera won.
