Morgan Pressel: Pardon her French

July 26, 2010

Amateur photographers in the gallery at the Evian Masters in Evian-les-Bains, France, on Sunday rankled American Morgan Pressel to the point she backed off a bunker shot and muttered a familiar obscenity that surely required no interpretation for anyone, including Golf Channel's television audience.

Stephanie Wei has the video (warning: expletive not deleted) at her blog, Wei Under Par.

Pressel was in a bunker by the 14th green when a camera went off. She backed off the shot and asked the crowd, "Please put the cameras away."

She re-addressed her ball, when another camera caused her to back away, at which point she employed the expletive as an adjective for a circus.

Not her finest moment, given the fact the tournament was played in a remote area of France (260 miles southeast of Paris), where presumably crowds are only vaguely familiar with course etiquette.
