Mike Davis discusses slow play at Oakmont

July 10, 2010

OAKMONT, Pa. -- As we pointed out earlier this evening, slow play has been a problem all week. Mike Davis, senior director of rules and competitions, shed some light on the situation, saying that the U.S. Women's Open is always (always!) the slowest event he oversees, and that the extreme difficulty of Oakmont doesn't help.

Below, Davis speaks about the situation and explains why he thinks play might be slower than it should be at the U.S. Women's Open.
