Mickelson reappears, hints at playing Barclays

Phil Mickelson appeared in New Jersey on behalf of his charity, the Mickelson MobileExxon Teachers Academy, at which he addressed 200 elementary school teachers and announced a $50,000 donation to the Liberty Science Center, the Newark Star-Ledger reports here.

Mickelson usually is accompanied by wife Amy at this functions, but Amy is home undergoing treatments for breast cancer. "She's doing great, she's doing much better," Mickelson told those gathered for the occasion.

Mickelson also hinted at a return to competitive golf at the Barclays, the first round of the FedEx Cup at the end of August, the newspaper reports.
