Mickelson commits to playing at Firestone

The PGA Tour has issued a news release noting that Phil Mickelson has committed to playing in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational next week at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

It would mark Mickelson's first tournament since the U.S. Open, after which he took a hiatus to be with his wife and his mother, each of them fighting breast cancer.
