OVERVIEW

Golf Digest today has announced Michael Breed as its new Chief Digital Instructor. Breed, a PGA of America National Teacher of the Year who has been a golf instructor for more than three decades, joins Golf Digest from the Golf Channel, where he hosted 385 episodes of The Golf Fix.

“I’m excited to make this transition from a weekly TV show to an on-demand digital show,” Breed says. “I’m going to combine what I learned during nine years of hosting the Golf Fix with what I’ve learned during countless one-on-one lessons on a practice tee to help people understand the golf swing better than they ever have.”

Breed’s role at Golf Digest represents a modernization of golf instruction. Whereas he used to host a series of 60-minute instruction shows that aired only on Monday nights, his content will now live on a new digital platform called the Golf Digest Schools, where it will be available anytime, on demand.

"We're excited to have Michael join the Golf Digest Schools team," says Chris Reynolds, Head of Digital at Golf Digest. "The brand-new Golf Digest Schools is your personalized digital destination that helps you learn how to play from the best teachers in the world. There's no better way to launch this platform than to partner with Michael. He brings experience and energy that will play a key role in the continued dominance of Golf Digest in the golf instruction space."

Starting in January and extending through the year, Breed's instruction content will be available as individual series on Golf Digest Schools that are pre-recorded and packaged, and also as live programming on both Golf Digest Schools and Golf Digest's various social media platforms. Additionally, Breed's expertise will appear in the pages of Golf Digest magazine. Golf Digest is bringing Breed's knowledge of instruction to all areas of publishing, meaning golfers will be able to consume it anytime they'd like on a wide range of devices that span from smartphones and tablets to desktops and televisions.

In addition to his work with Golf Digest, Breed will continue to oversee the Michael Breed Golf Academy at Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in New York, and he will host "A New Breed of Golf," a two-hour show that airs five days per week on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.
