PGA Championship 2024: Max Homa hilariously sums up the week for 90 percent of the Valhalla field

Max Homa isn’t a professional golfer who happens to be funny on the Internet. He’s a funny guy on the Internet who also happens to be a professional golfer. Before Homa was a regular contender on the PGA Tour, he was a Golf Twitter personality and no amount of success can ever change that (at least in the minds of deranged golf writers like us).

Take Sunday, for example. After a career-best major showing at Augusta National last month, Homa finished mid-pack this weekend at Valhalla. The World No. 9’s performance didn’t live up to his own expectations and he took to social media after his final round to express his disappointment. But instead of a stock “we didn’t get it done out there, but I’m looking forward to going again," Homa displayed his usual wit, summing up the week’s experience for 90 percent of the field at Valhalla.

That’s one way to think about it, but when that convict's name is Scottie Scheffler, there’s really no shame in it. Scheffler is the most dominant male golfer on the planet right now, and after finishing the week 13 under par, was probably denied a second major victory of 2024 only by the Louisville Police Department.

Still, we appreciate Homa’s candor and humor, and fully expect him to be in the mix at the U.S. Open next month … even if Scottie manages avoids a run-in with Pinehurst PD.
