Today is the last big adjustment to futures odds for the Masters before next week. If you are new to golf betting, the biggest events offer outright odds to win well in advance. For example, you could have bet Scottie Scheffler in early February to win the Masters at twice the odds he holds today. As we focus on the Valero Texas Open, I cannot help but wonder what adjustments for Masters odds will come next Monday.

Playing the futures market can be very beneficial for bettors.

With just one week to go, let’s take a look at a couple of situations where betting early makes sense.

Bet Joaquin Niemann now

Joaquin Niemann has won two LIV events in 2024. His odds to win the Masters currently sit at 31-1. If you like Niemann to grab a green jacket, I would bet him today before LIV Miami starts. Should he win for a third time (or just grab a podium), those odds will get worse on Monday. If Joaquin should have an average week at Doral, those odds will likely sit just where there are.

Bet Corey Conners now

Corey Conners is 110-1 on the Masters futures board. The two-time Valero winner and defending champion is coming off two straight top 20s (API, PLAYERS) and heading to a place where he is extremely comfortable. Conners has three top 10s at Augusta in the last four years. If you believe he’s primed for another late Sunday run, grab him now. A solid week at TPC San Antonio will drop his odds significantly on Monday.

Wait to bet Jordan Spieth

Markets can move in both directions. Let’s say you are a Jordan Spieth junkie. Many golf fans and bettors are at the Masters. He currently sits at 21-1, and he’s in the field at the Valero. Spieth is coming off two straight missed cuts (Players, Valspar). His odds seem too low based upon his form. If you want to take Jordan next week at Augusta National, you should wait.

If he wins in San Antonio, the affect to his odds will be far less than if he misses another cut. Come Monday Jordan’s value will jump if plays poorly again.

The futures markets are incredibly fun and active. At Read The Line, I am always looking for betting value. As part of the Monday Odds Drop content each week, we will highlight any opportunities that catch our attention. Remember, the futures odds end when the week flips Monday morning of major week. Find some value at the Valero and get in the futures game before next Monday and you will increase your engagement to the Masters!
