Masters 2025: CBS reveals who will be Verne Lundquist's replacement in the 16th hole tower

For the first time in more than four decades, Verne Lundquist won't be in the 16th hole tower at this year's Masters. However, that doesn't mean golf fans won't hear another familiar voice at one of Augusta National's most famous spots.
Lundquist called his 40th and final Masters last year, highlighted by a special moment when Tiger Woods came over to shake his hand. Of course, Woods was the subject of one of the legendary broadcaster's iconic calls—"In your life! Have you ever seen anything like that?!"—back in 2005.
With Lundquist now retired, CBS revealed his replacement on the 16th hole will be former tour pro and longtime analyst Frank Nobilo.
“He deserves this opportunity…I’m thrilled that he gets to be a much more integral part of the latter part of our coverage,” CBS Sports president David Berson said during a pre-tournament call with media on Tuesday.

After a successful playing career, Nobilo joined Golf Channel in 2003. He became a part of the CBS golf team in 2015.
In recent years, Nobilo had been part of the network's coverage of Amen Corner during the broadcast. With Nobilo moving to No. 16, Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman will call more action from holes 11-13.
“There’s no one more experienced,” CBS lead golf producer Shy Sellers said of Nobilo. “There’s now a real nice balance that I think everyone’s going to be very very happy with."
