Mark Calcavecchia plays Chambers Bay with wife, calls greens 'iffy at best'
Mark Calcavecchia took the opportunity of a day off on Tuesday in the Seattle area to venture out to Chambers Bay with his wife Brenda. His verdict? "Loved it," he Tweeted, while acknowledging the greens were "iffy at best."
Calcavecchia, in town to play in the Champions Tour's Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, Tweeted a photo of Brenda teeing off on the 10th hole. We can ascertain two things from the photo: Brenda looks to have a pretty good swing and the fairways have been watered and were significantly greener than they were at the U.S. Open there two months ago.
In a followup Tweet, in response to a question about the greens, Calcavecchia wrote, "Greens were iffy at best."
