Ludvig Aberg nearly matches Tiger Woods with this amazing world ranking feat

Ludvig Aberg was disappointed the final round at Pebble Beach was washed away, but that didn't keep him from continuing his historic rise in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Aberg was in solo second place and one shot behind Wyndham Clark through three rounds at the AT&T Pebble Beach, which was shortened to 54 holes due to severe weather, giving Clark the victory. That gave the 24-year-old Swede his second career PGA Tour runner-up instead of possibly winning a second title in addition to winning the RSM Classic in November.
Aberg also won on the DP World Tour in September, and later that month became the first golfer to play in a Ryder Cup before playing in a major championship. Not surprisingly, he's been flying up the Official World Golf Ranking.
In fact, the Pebble Beach finish moved Aberg all the way up to No. 11, an amazing accomplishment considering the Texas Tech product only turned pro in June. And it becomes even more amazing when you see that only one person has gotten to that point faster in the history of the OWGR. And, of course, that person is Tiger Woods.
Thanks to OWGR guru Nosferatu on Twitter for pointing that out. But he left out something else.
That 17th pro start for Woods was his landmark 12-shot win at the 1997 Masters. And it didn't just take him to No. 11, but all the way to No. 3. A couple months later, Woods would get to No. 1 for the first of many weeks. Many, many, many weeks. In fact, a record 683(!) weeks total in the top spot.
Of course, it should also be pointed out, that climbing up the OWGR is a bit easier now than it was then due to LIV Golf events not awarding points. But we don't want to rain on Aberg's parade, because this is still an incredible achievement for the young man. Besides, he already got enough actual rain over the weekend to keep him from potentially moving up even more.
