Knee-high socks: fashion or function?

While compression leg sleeves are popular among runners and other high-intensity athletes, they also make sense this week, when several golfers had to cram in around 30 holes yesterday and more than 18 today.

A tall order, considering they're playing the toughest course they'll play all year.
