Jimmy Walker on battling Lyme disease, trying to make another Ryder Cup, and picking his walk-up music
In the span of a few months, Jimmy Walker went from becoming a major champion to facing major health questions. Faced with a wide array of symptoms from fatigue to a "brain fog," Walker had contracted Lyme disease. He just didn't know it yet.
After months of tests, the six-time PGA Tour winner was finally diagnosed with the condition on the eve of the 2017 Masters. It's been a trying 12 months since with Walker's main goal switching from winning golf tournaments to finding a treatment plan that works, but he certainly seems to be on the right track. Following a T-8 at Pebble Beach in February, Walker finished T-20 at the Masters, and he's coming off a solo fourth at the Valero Texas Open.
It's great to see Walker flashing the form that earned him a spot on the past two U.S. Ryder Cup teams, and he joined us to talk about his hopes of making the American squad heading to France this fall, what he told his buddy Rickie Fowler after that runner-up at Augusta, and why you won't see him dancing with teammate Sean O'Hair at the Zurich Classic.
