Henrik Stenson thought this birdie try was well short. He was wrong
OAKMONT, Pa. -- Henrik Stenson is not prone to celebratory outbursts. But we think even he cracked a smile at this fortune.
Standing on the 8th green (his 17th hole of the round), the 40-year-old Swede believed his 20-foot birdie attempt would fall well short of its destination, and began walking towards his ball to prepare himself for the par putt.
One problem: Stenson's putt never stopped rolling until it found the bottom of the cup:
