Harold Varner III didn't seem too pleased with this tweet from LIV Golf's official handle

The ongoing battle between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour has been well publicized, but there's also been a bit of tension between LIV's players and a different entity: The new league's social media team.

Brooks Koepka trolled the social team with some feisty Instagram comments in November when the league was slow to put out the 2024 schedule. And Jon Rahm couldn't have been thrilled about them mispelling his name and tagging the wrong Jon Rahm during his debut last week. Hey, it happens. Growing pains, am I right?

But on Thursday, Harold Varner III became the latest to seemingly feel a bit tweaked by a tweet. Following an opening 63 in Las Vegas on Thursday that gave him a share of the early lead with Paul Casey, LIV tweeted about Varner's "crazy" turnaround from the previous tournament in which he finished DFL. And Varner responded, "Why is that so crazy"?

To be fair to LIV's social team, that is quite a turnaround. The dude shaved 13 strokes off Sunday's score and went from all the way at the bottom of one leaderboard to the top of another. And, yes, golf is a crazy game sometimes.

Anyway, we're pretty sure it didn't ruin HV3's day as the 33-year-old searches for a second career LIV Golf title. He just might want to stop searching for his name on Twitter—at least until the tournament is over.
