TROON, Scotland — It would appear we have a Ryder Cup preview shaking up Sunday at Royal Troon. Henrik Stenson shot the low round of the day for a second consecutive round to grab a one-shot lead over Phil Mickelson, who is five shots clear of the rest of the field. It sets up a match-play-esque showdown in the final round of the 145th Open Championship.
On site in Troon, Alex Myers, Stephen Hennessey and I discuss what happened Saturday and how things stand entering the final 18 holes. Who has the edge in the showdown, the five-time major champion in Mickelson or the man who has been the better ball-striker the last 36 holes, Stenson? How much pressure will the Swede have as he attempts to claim his elusive first major title? And can anybody not named Stenson or Mickelson somehow jump up the leader board and steal away the claret jug?
