'Go Korea Win,' not that it needs any encouragement

September 21, 2009

When Kristy McPherson began trotting toward the cliff to begin her paragliding experience on Saturday, the chute that would carry her away unfolded and printed on it, in huge letters, were the words, "Go Korea Win." No kidding. Probably not what American players needed to see at this point of the season.

Another South Korean won on Sunday, this time Na Yeon Choi at the Samsung World Championship. It was the ninth win this year by seven different Korean golfers. They've won six of the last nine LPGA events.

The last time an American won? Cristie Kerr on May 10 (the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill). The last 13 LPGA events have been won by foreigners.
