    If you want to be a good iron player, you have to have distance control. To consistently hit shots the yardage you want, you really have to focus on making a solid strike and swinging at a pace that's always in control.

    One thing that helps is to maintain extension of the arms so you can fully release the club after impact. You're swinging through the ball, not at it. The swing doesn't end at impact, and this thought of extending and releasing will help you hit the ball the distance you want every time.
