Game improvement: A backpack that lets you act your (adult) age

May 15, 2014

__

No matter who you are, chances are you've got some gear in your game that could use an update. While we don't advise retooling everything at once, trading up a few staples at a time is the ticket to solid style. Each week we'll pull a dud from the dark depths of every man's collection and suggest a simple substitute. Check your nostalgia at the door -- it's time for your tune up.

Not too long ago we sat here and told to you backpacks were for, well … for boys. That is to say the backpacks we grew up with, the ones with our initials on the back, the ones with 45 different zippered compartments that can still be worn to chemistry class. And indeed, those should still be left in the locker after graduation.

Yet while your Jansport still looks Junior Prom, a bunch of sharp brands have come out with paired down packs that are, how should we say it, age appropriate for the modern man's varied after-school activities.
