Friday's Course Setup: Time for payback?

    April 09, 2010

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Perhaps lost in the shuffle with so many other storylines Thursday is the fact that Augusta National was a pushover.

Thirty-one players finished under par in the first round, a trend that could certainly continue considering a hard rain Thursday night that may have made the greens even more receptive Friday.

Which is not to say the course is helpless. If the hole locations released for Friday are any indications, it's that many pins won't be nearly as accessible to players in the second round. Couple that with colder temperatures and more of a breeze, and of the 36 players on the course, only seven are under par.
