For Moore, the Stadium Course giveth, and...
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- When we last left Ryan Moore, he was coming off a record-tying back-nine 30 (his first nine of the day) at TPC Sawgrass and seemingly headed for one of the final pairings on the weekend.
Then golf intervened. After getting to as low as 12 under par, Moore drew a couple of brutal lies on the front side, leading to two double bogeys in a four-hole stretch. Forced to settle for a two-under 70, he is within reach of leader Lee Westwood (12 under) at seven under par. Just not as close as he hoped.
"It's one of those golf course that if you hit the greens in the right spot, you've got great birdie chances. If you miss them, you've got really tough up-and-downs. I got a couple of really, really poor lies in bunkers and I made a mess of both of them."
