Fans' Choice: And the winner is . . .

After 711,697 votes and 639 comments, we have a winner in what has been Golf Digest's most successful socially-charged initiative since the launch of our Facebook page.

The final matchup came down to Wolf Creek, No. 28 on Golf Digest's list of America's 100 Greatest Public, and Bulle Rock, No. 59.   And throughout the final week of the tournament, it looked as though Bulle Rock was going to beat Wolf Creek at its own game -- rallying an avid pocket of fans to log on and vote ... and vote again ... and vote again. But the Bulle got beat by the bully of the bracket. The Creek received 169,660 votes, the Rock finished with 130,265.

And so I'm going to make my way to the $195 course in Mesquite, Nev. -- the Bud Chapman painting come to life -- to deliver some handshakes, a plaque and some prizes. Congratulations to __Wolf Creek -- __The Fans' Choice.
