Epic police car chase rips through a golf course in Pittsburgh

October 09, 2014

It's like something out of a golf-action movie.

According to police, a man under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol barreled onto a golf course at about 4:30 p.m. The man, driving a white Chevy Tahoe, tore through the driving range at a speed between between 60 and 70 mph. He bounced his car off the the General Manger's "vehicle" and then headed towards the golf course.

People playing at the time said the driver was frantically swerving between holes, almost hitting groups of people at some point. One of the men, who said he got so close to the car that he could see the driver's face, said he "looked like he was being chased."

The man eventually lost control of his car and crashed into some woods while he was trying to find a route out of the course. He was, of course, arrested. Here's a quote from one of the eye witnesses, courtesy of CBS Pittsburgh:

"We were getting ready to go to No. 8," said high school golfer David Harris. "Out of nowhere, we see a white truck coming down the hill. We were like Wow.' We though it was a maintenance truck or something, but it came right in the middle of the fairway, came right past us. It was close to us."> >

And here's a video recapping the incident:
