David Feherty was the only golf media member to get love in Awful Announcing's annual awards

May 04, 2015

On Monday, Awful Announcing revealed the winners from its third annual People's Sports Media Awards. Despite Awful Announcing's name, being on this list is actually a good thing.

The awards were a combination of reader and staff votes and they produced a list of 14 categories that was lacking in golf representation -- except for one person.

CBS' David Feherty took home second place (OK, so we don't know if he actually took anything home) for best sideline reporter/analyst. Feherty finished only behind Turner's Rachel Nichols and he edged NBC's Michelle Tafoya.

We thought NBC's Johnny Miller might get a nod for best game analyst and Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee might get a look for best studio analyst. Those categories were pretty stacked, though, with Bill Raftery and Charles Barkley emerging as the winners. Tough to argue with either of those guys.
