Daly's ingratitude
John Daly has received sponsor exemptions into the Sony Open in Hawaii, the San Diego Open and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, but he took exception to the fact that he was unable to secure a start in the Bob Hope Classic.
"That was kind of a shocker they didn't give me one," Daly told Associated Press golf writer Doug Ferguson. "I felt like I brought a lot of celebrity friends to that tournament. That was kind of a slap in the face. I supported that tournament for all those years. My feelings were hurt there."
All that might be true, but given Daly's aberrant behavior through the years, which contributed to the six-month suspension he received from the PGA Tour last year, he ought to be grateful for any exemptions he gets and keep to himself whatever ingratitude he might have for those he doesn't receive.
