Conor McGregor retires from fighting, presumably because he already lives on a famous golf course

    Save for later

UFC superstar Conor McGregor shocked the sports world on Tuesday with this cryptic tweet that seems to indicate he plans to retire at 27:

But should it be that surprising when you already live in a mansion that overlooks a famous golf course? What else is there to work/fight for?

That photo was taken at McGregor's home, which is reportedly located on the grounds of Ireland's K Club. The club hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup in which Europe gave the U.S. a McGregor-like beatdown.

McGregor actually lost his last fight to Nate Diaz in March, but a July rematch was expected. One that would have certainly banked the Irishman a lot more "cheese."

If McGregor's announcement is for real, he'll have plenty more time to enjoy the golf course in his backyard. If he wants a tee time at the K Club, though, he'll probably have to put on a shirt. And lose the sword.
