Coming to Riviera in 2017: The Genesis Open

We learned in January that Hyundai would be taking over for Northern Trust as the title sponsor for the PGA Tour's annual stop at Riviera Country Club. And we learned on Monday what the event will be called going forward. The Genesis Open.
Confused? We'll explain.
Genesis Motors is Hyundai's luxury-car spinoff company, and the tour will make the announcement on Monday, according to the L.A. Times. Genesis became its own company in 2015, but it has been making cars since 2008. Northern Trust had been the tournament sponsor since 2008.
Bubba Watson will be the defending champ at the 2017 Genesis Open. The Tiger Woods Foundation will also be the new host organization, something that was announced in March.
“I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Southern California, where my foundation is based, and am appreciative of the role Genesis will play in this mission,” Woods said in a statement.
