Bet the Under

Bettor turns $10 into nearly $80,000, hitting incredible 14-leg college football parlay with ALL UNDERS

September 07, 2021

College football is back, baby! Throughout Labor Day Weekend, screens large and small were dominated by amateur football as the amateur football gods intended it: With fans in the stands and the fight songs cranked to 11. And yet, despite the atmosphere and adrenaline, the stadium energy didn’t exactly translate to the scoreboards. College football has looked and felt like a video game for well over a decade now, but this week saw unders hitting with the frequency of a targeting call in Louisville-Ole Miss. Georgia 10, Clemson 7. Penn State 16, Wisconsin 10. Iowa State 16, Northern Iowa 10. And that’s all before we saw this lucky bettor’s incredible 14-leg parlay with all unders.

Your eyes do not deceive you. That’s a $10 bet at +799375, netting this under-loving maniac a cool $79,935.70. Not bad for a weekend’s work. And funny enough, his parlay didn’t include the aforementioned Georgia-Clemson, Penn State-Wisconsin or Iowa State-Northern Iowa tilts. He somehow managed to cash 14 unders in addition to those games, including the final final of the weekend, Louisville-Ole Miss, which finished with a total of 67. Not exactly a fun way to sweat out a Monday night, but still two possessions short of the 75.5 push.

Whether this says something larger about the state of college football (and college football betting) this season remains to be seen. When you finally get a bunch of 19-year-old kids playing in front of collegiate fans again, sometimes for the first time, strange things are bound to happen. In this case, that meant lower-than-expected scoring across the board, but don’t expect a carbon copy in Week 2. Watch for sportsbooks to be a little more bearish with overs this weekend, and with Washington-Michigan on the primetime slate, we can’t say we blame them ...
