CI Podcast/Pac-10/SEC Challenge preview
The women's fall season concludes this weekend with a new event being held at Stanford GC in California. The Pac-10/SEC Challenge will pit all but one school of the 22 in the two conferences in what likely will be a highly competitive wrap up to the first half of the 2010-11 season. Of the top 25 programs in the Golf World/NGCA coaches' poll, 14 of them will be playing in the tournament.
The event was spearheaded in part by Stanford women's coach Caroline O'Connor, who joins me in this week's podcast to discuss how the tournament came to fruition and the tournament-within-a-tournament structure that will try to help crown the better conference of the two after 54 holes. O'Connor (right) also talks about her own team and how they can take inspiration from the recent World Series champion San Francisco Giants regarding staying focused as the season rolls on.
