Daniel Berger celebrates with the plaid jacket and Leonard trophy after defeating Collin Morikawa in a playoff during the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2020 at Colonial Country Club.

The Charles Schwab Challenge was the first PGA Tour event to return after last year’s COVID hiatus. It's back again in 2021, this time in its usual May spot in the calendar. Coming off the high of the PGA Championship, this upcoming tournament will feature a loaded field including the "new" oldest major champion even, Phil Mickelson, looking to continue his winning ways.
Along with Lefty, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Collin Morikawa, Louis Oosthuizen and last year’s winner, Daniel Berger, will be teeing it up at Colonial Country Club as the tournament celebrates its 75th anniversary. Berger won in dramatic fashion last June, making a birdie on the 72nd hole to force a playoff with Morikawa, then winning on the first hole of sudden death.
Another tour pro making the trip to Fort Worth this week will be Michael Visacki. Video of Visacki after Monday qualifying for the Valspar Championship earlier this month went viral, and one of the many who watched it was Charles Schwab himself. Schwab ended up extending an invite of his own for Visacki to compete.
The winner of this event will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.35 million share of the $7.5 million purse.
