Watch Bryson DeChambeau attempt to catch a Matthew Stafford pass in most reckless clip of the year

Perhaps you’ve heard a whisper or two, but the Masters is almost here. Everyone’s gearing up for Augusta National—last-second warmups, getting in the right headspace, doing Golf Digest photoshoots—but Bryson DeChambeau has other things on his mind. Namely content. Always content.
The YouTube King is releasing a new episode of “Break 50” with Matthew Stafford, and as promotion did one of the more insane things a major champ has ever done heading into one of the biggest events of the year: Try to catch a bullet from Matthew Stafford.
We’re sure that’s not the Super Bowl-winning quarterback’s best, but it’s certainly not his worst. That thud against DeChambeau’s body could be out of a horror movie. What if that pass hit a finger? What if the momentum caused him to trip? What if the ball stopped his heart? We don’t mean to WebMD this—we’re just looking out for you, Bryson.
Because April Fools' Day is a pox on society, DeChambeau and the Crushers GC turned this into a bit, announcing that the two-time major champ “will not be playing in the 2025 Masters due to a ‘chest injury’ that occurred while playing pickup football with Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford.”
The comments show just how gullible everyone is, from “scared me for a sec ngl” to “Palms started sweating” to “I’m going to Miami this weekend I almost cried lol.” On the last slide, DeChambeau admitted that this was all a prank and also added that “My chest still hurts though…” Of course it does. A mediocre Matthew Stafford pass is still better than almost any other human’s. Every New York Jets quarterback, for example.
This is Bryson DeChambeau, so we’re not too surprised by these antics with the Masters around the corner, but we only get a few chances each year to see all of the best golfers in the world come together. Don’t let Matthew Stafford put one of the game’s most exciting players out of service. We need to see the sequel to Bryson DeChambeau carrying a sign around Augusta National.
