Brooks Koepka hits autograph seekers with brutal David Simms quote, introduces whole new generation to 'Tin Cup'

It must be weird being a professional athlete. There’s no work from home. There’s no quiet days at the office. Everytime you go to do your job, thousands of people are watching, shouting insults about your mother one minute and worshiping you like a Greek god the next.

But don’t take our word for it. Just ask Brooks Koepka, who found himself being pestered for an autograph while on the range at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on Wednesday. Instead of giving into the demands, however, Koepka decided to give the kids a history lesson, dusting off this iconic ‘Tin Cup’ quote for a whole new generation. Check it out here.

"I got to work," Koepka said. "I don't come to your job asking for your s***, do I? I don't think so!"

Ordinarily Koepka would be getting killed for this, but the quote was an obvious homage to Don Johnson’s answer to Shooter McGavin, David Simms; a character perhaps best remembered for this scene ...

Sound familiar? We’ve always felt Koepka is more of McAvoy than a Simms, but perhaps this is his heel-turn moment. Nice guys finish last, after all, and Koepka is overdue for a win.
