British Open 2025: See the sick shot that had Tyrrell Hatton the happiest he's ever been on a golf course
We've done plenty of posts through the years about Tyrrell Hatton losing his cool on the golf course. Or, specifically, at the golf course.
Well, this is NOT one of those posts.
That's because Hatton was arguably the happiest golf fans have ever seen him during Saturday's third round of the British Open. And all it took was one of the best shots of his life.
Hatton laid up on Royal Portrush's par-5 seventh hole. And then he holed out this wedge that took a while before it dropped for an unlikely eagle.
What a shot. What a reaction.
As the coverage continued, NBC's Dan Hicks remarked it might be the most Hatton has ever smiled on a course as the fiery Brit continued to grin ear to ear. Oh yeah, we should mention it's the happiest he's ever been on a golf course for now. If he keeps this up, he'll be smiling even more come Sunday evening.

Is it the British Open or the Open Championship? The name of the final men’s major of the golf season is a subject of continued discussion. The event’s official name, as explained in this op-ed by former R&A chairman Ian Pattinson, is the Open Championship. But since many United States golf fans continue to refer to it as the British Open, and search news around the event accordingly, Golf Digest continues to utilize both names in its coverage.
