British Open 2025: Daniel Berger banks tee shot off golf bag to drive green

Turns out, the bank was open on Sunday at Royal Portrush. At least, for Daniel Berger.

Just ahead of the leaders teeing off in the final round of the British Open, the four-time PGA Tour winner had one of the most unusual highlights of his career. Playing Royal Portrush's par-4 17th, Berger smashed a driver that wound up on the putting surface after banking off Aaron Rai's golf bag.

Have a look as Rai's caddie tries to pull it out of the way, but it's too late:

Pretty wild. We're guessing Berger couldn't see any of this from the tee, but we're also guessing he was pretty happy to see his golf ball on the green when he got up there. And he wound up two-putting for birdie on his way to a Sunday 68.

Funny enough, the only par-4 ace in PGA Tour history came when Andrew Magee banked his shot off Tom Byrum's putter at the 2001 Phoenix Open. Hey, it's always better to be lucky than and good.
