British Open 2023: Brian Harman's actual, NSFW nickname in college was 1 million times worse than 'The Harmanator'

They say you don't get to pick your nickname. For Brian Harman, that fact was painfully true during his University of Georgia days.

The good news is - Harman's nickname during his time in Athens was not "The Harmanator," which he called "dreadful" after grabbing the 36-hole lead on Friday evening.

The bad news? His actual nickname in college was 1 million times worse. As the story goes, the Bulldogs men's golf team was in Bend, Ore., playing a practice round for the NCAA Championships. Head coach Chris Haack was driving the team van and a guy in a yellow Nissan Xterra was getting a little too close for comfort. We'll let Brendon Todd, a three-time PGA Tour winner and one of Harman's UGA teammates on the van that fateful day, take it from here.

WARNING: Nothng will prepare you for this extremely NSFW nickname:

This might be the No. 1 instance of "you don't get to pick your nickname" in nickname history. Unless the five-foot-seven Harman, a freshman at the time, went up and knocked this "mountain of a man" out, he was going to be known as C-bite from there on. Just a very unfortunate series of events.

Should Harman finish this Open Championship out, like it appears he's going to do, he'll no longer be known as The Harmantor or C-Bite. He'll be known as the champion golfer of the year. The ultimate last laugh.
